Thank you for your support!
Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of death among women in the United States and is the most deadly of the gynecologic cancers. Ovarian cancer is often difficult to diagnose because symptoms may be subtle, are easily confused with other diseases and because there is
no single reliable easy-to-administer screening tool; this is why this cancer is also know as the silent killer. Cancer, as a disease, is very diverse and personal, which makes it difficult to treat. As has been seen with the breast cancer awareness movement, early detection is a strong step
in our fight to end cancer.
The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, Inc. helps thousands of women and their families every day. Since its inception, the SROCF has experienced tremendous growth and has gained national standing as an organization dedicated to changing the course of this deadly disease. Funds raised from this event will be used toward finding an early detection test for ovarian cancer, improved treatments for the disease and developing educational programs to educate the public and physicians about ovarian cancer. This will be the 7th year I will be participating. As many of you know I have personal reasons which enrich my support of the cause. I plan to participate in this event until an effective treatment is realized to continue the fight our mother started over 7 years ago. Many of you have already been a source of strength when times got tough. Even though I probably haven't said it enough if at all - Thank you!
I ask that you consider helping the cause as well in any capacity you can: walk, run, sleepwalk (register and raise money but don't actually show up to walk), donate, volunteer, or just foward the information along to others.
