Stay Strong and Carry On
I was a healthy 52 year old who was always active, never had any health issues and had NO family history of cancer. In April 2016 I was diagnosed with stage 3C clear cell ovarian cancer which is a rare type of ovarian cancer. The front line chemotherapy that is usually given to OC patients did not work for me. I was VERY fortunate to find and qualify for an immunotherapy clinical trial at Fox Chase Cancer Center. I feel blessed and grateful to still be here and want to raise funds to keep important research efforts continuing to find cures for this terrible disease. It's because of these research efforts that I'm currently in remission and I'm passionate about raising funds for research.
My team name reflects how I felt right after I was diagnosed. It was a jingle that I couldn't get out of my head so it has become my mantra. Each and every day I try to stay strong and carry on! Some days are easier than others but we all just need to take one day at a time.
Thank you for joining my team either by donation, walking or running. I am grateful for each and every one of you!
